On 5-6 September 2024, the Korea Foundation (한국국제교류재단) & the Korean-German Forum (Deutsch-Koreanisches Forum) held the 22nd Korean-German Forum in Dresden (Germany) with the support of ADeKo.

The Korean-German Forum is a private, permanent meeting of prominent figures from the political, economic, cultural, and educational sectors of both Korea and Germany, and was established in 2002 on the occasion of the visit of German Federal President Johannes Lau to Korea. It is held annually in both Korea and Germany with the aim of promoting a broad and sustained dialogue between the two countries on a private level.

The forum has also focused on joint responses to global challenges such as economic security, climate change, the energy crisis, cyber security, and the peaceful use of AI, and the results of the discussions are compiled into policy proposals and shared annually with governments and relevant organizations.

* On Thursday, 19 October 2023, the German Bundestag passed the German-South Korean ‘Value-Sharing Partnership’ Proposal (Antrag). It recognises that the Republic of Korea, as a stable democracy and successful economy, is one of Germany's most important partners in Asia and plays an important role in the implementation of the Federal Government's Indo-Pacific Directive and the European Union's Indo-Pacific Strategy.

In the 20th Legislative Session, ADeKo will contribute to the positive development of the two countries on a private level as a partner in strengthening bilateral cooperation with Germany, as stipulated in the proposal (Antrag).
