[EVENT] ADeKo Cultural Experience (3) Seokjojeon Hall in Deoksugung Palace

ADeKo will visit Seokjojeon Hall(which is located in Deoksugung Palace) as the third ADeKo Cultural Experience Program following the Peter Weibel exhibition.


Seokjojeon Hall is a rare neoclassical palace in Korea, built in the Western style to symbolize the modernization of the Korean Empire and to demonstrate its power as an imperial power.


You'll hear in-depth commentary from Unjoo Kim, who wrote her doctoral thesis on Seokjojeon Hall.

After the tour, we will have a discussion about Seokjojeon Hall and modern architecture at a nearby cafe.


Program

When: Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Location: Seokjojeon Hall (99 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul)

Meeting point: In front of Deoksugung Palace ticket office

Tour Method: Explanatory visit to the Seokjojeon Hall

Benefits: Architectural expert commentary, entrance fee, cafe drinks provided

Participation fee: 5,000 won for regular members / 10,000 won for associate members and non-members

Number of participants: 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis
