Putin says ties with North Korea raised to 'unprecedentedly high level' in thank-you message to Kim

"After summit talks Wednesday, Putin and Kim signed a treaty of comprehensive strategic partnership that calls for providing military assistance without delay if either side comes under attack. It marked Putin's first trip to North Korea in 24 years. Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for showing heartfelt hospitality during his visit to Pyongyang last week, saying bilateral ties have been boosted to an "unprecedentedly high level," the North's state media reported Tuesday."

Putin warns South Korea against arming Ukraine

"Vladimir Putin has warned South Korea it would be making 'a big mistake' if it arms Ukraine in the war against Russia. His comments come after Seoul said it was considering such a possibility, in response to Russia and North Korea's new pact to help each other in the event of "aggression" against either country. Moscow 'will... [make] decisions which are unlikely to please the current leadership of South Korea' if Seoul decides to supply arms to Kyiv, Mr Putin told reporters on Thursday."

Chinese seafood made with N. Korean forced labor floods S. Korea

Yesterday, "it was confirmed that the scale of seafood exported to South Korea by Chinese seafood companies found to have illegally employed North Korean workers exceeded 4,000 tons. This is more than ten times the amount previously reported to have been sold to South Korean companies by these Chinese processing firms. The United Nations Security Council’s sanctions against North Korea prohibit the employment of North Korean workers by third-country companies, as the foreign currency earned by North Korean workers could be diverted to North Korea’s nuclear development."
