Rooted in 143 years of national trust, Korea and Germany have consistently fostered close cooperation and mutual development, sharing a common vision for the realization of shared values. In this era of complex crises, where geopolitical shifts and geoeconomic reorganization are unfolding simultaneously, there is an even greater demand for our two countries to build new global governance structures and expand leadership for the global citizenry through concrete and practical collaborative frameworks.

Thanks to the overwhelming support and encouragement of our members, ADeKo successfully concluded a wide range of programs in 2024. A diverse range of programs such as the Annual Conference and Gala Concert, Stammtisch, Houseconcert, WGK, and Cultural Experiences attracted approximately 3,000 attendees. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us in making these events a success.

The year 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification, and next year will be the 20th anniversary of ADeKo’s establishment. We are preparing even more meaningful events in addition to our regular programs. You can especially look forward to the newly launched mentoring program, the expanded Youth Exchange Program, and various cultural events. Additionally, ADeKo is now able to provide direct support to its various committees, as well as to over 70 regional and school-based alumni associations and academic societies.

In recent times, there has been a growing discussion across society on the need for constitutional reform and practical ways to implement it. This presents a valuable opportunity for ADeKo’s German experts, who are familiar with Germany’s stable political system and socially oriented economy, to actively share their insights. In a time marked by both uncertainty and hope, as well as expectations and fears, I hope that your experiences and wisdom will contribute to strengthening Korea.

You are at the heart of the future of Korea and Germany, driving us towards another success. ADeKo is committed to fulfilling its role as a reliable bridge for the dreams and challenges of all our members and for the practical development of both countries.
