Prof. Dr. Chunsik Kim, Chair of ADeKo’s Committee for Humanities and Education, elected President of the Korean Association for German History
Prof. Dr. Chunsik Kim, Head of the Department of Energy Management at Dongshin University and Chair of ADeKo’s Committee for Humanities and Education, has been elected as the 19th President of the Korean Association for German History. His term will run from July 2025 to June 2027. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by the AI era in the field of humanities, and pledged to guide the association through structural transformations in academic communities.
He plans to promote interdisciplinary research through AI-based methods, expand international academic exchange, and develop sustainable models for global collaboration. Prof. Kim holds a Ph.D. in modern Western history (focusing on German-Chinese relations) from the University of Hamburg, where he also served as a visiting professor. He has also taught at POSTECH and is currently a columnist at Education Union News. His major publications include Deutscher Kulturimperialismus in China and Vocational Education and Higher Vocational Training in Germany and Korea.
