Applications are now open for HackYourDistrict 2026: AI for Liveable Neighbourhoods – Co-Creating Urban Futures, a DAAD-funded Alumni Seminar taking place from 12 to 16 October 2026 at the School of Architecture, Feng Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan.
Organized by Technical University Berlin in cooperation with Taiwanese partners, the seminar is open to alumni of German universities with a background or strong interest in urban planning, architecture, mobility, climate research, data science, GIS, digital methods, participation, governance, or the social sciences.
Over the five-day programme, participants will work in interdisciplinary teams alongside international experts to address real urban challenges in Taichung. The seminar combines expert inputs, fieldwork, collaborative design, data-based analysis and scenario development, exploring how AI-supported tools can contribute to more liveable, inclusive and climate-conscious neighbourhood planning.
Selected participants may receive DAAD funding for travel and accommodation, subject to eligibility and DAAD funding regulations. The seminar is funded through budgets from BMZ, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and AA, the German Federal Foreign Office.
