Wish for Peace on the Korean Peninsula - ADeKo Gala Concert

ADeKo, together with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Seoul,
co-hosts a special Gala Concert in Seoul under the theme “Wish for Peace on the Korean Peninsula.”

This performance commemorates the 35th anniversary of German reunification and the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation,
offering a moment to reflect on history and share the meaning of cultural solidarity.

These two historical anniversaries serve not only as a time to look back on the past,
but also as an opportunity to reflect on the value of peace, the pain of division, and the potential for reconciliation.

Germany’s path to reunification stands as a symbolic mirror of Korea’s longing for peace and unification, delivering a message of hope.
Through the immortal music of Ludwig van Beethoven, this concert aims to convey a profound message that transcends language.

It will be a moment to share the possibilities of peace, reconciliation, and mutual understanding —
cross borders and beyond the scars of division, through music.
As Germany’s own reunification proves, change is possible, and such a journey is not a distant dream.

The highlight of the evening, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 “Ode to Joy,” is a globally resonant anthem of unity and hope.
Through this music, we sing of peace, celebrate friendship, and share a collective vision for a better future.

The “ADeKo Gala Concert – Wish for Peace on the Korean Peninsula”,
featuring outstanding Korean musicians, will be a cultural celebration of the strong friendship between Korea and Germany
and a stage for delivering a heartfelt message of peace.
